The green coffee will be roast by the roaster,and the coffee bean will release more and more co2 after roasting.Then pack the coffee into the coffee bags.

If your coffee bag without the coffee valve,the co2 will full of your bag,then your coffee bag will be exploded by the co2.

That is why you will find the coffee package with the coffee valve in it.The coffee valve can help you release the co2 outside the package. 

Maybe you also know the open pressure and the close pressure of the coffee valve.Pls check the below coffee valve:

The open pressure of the valve is :2.3-5.5 mbar.It means while the co2 in your coffee package arrival 2.3-5.5mbar,the coffee valve will begin to release the inside co2 outside the bag.

The close pressure of the valve is :less than 2mbar.It means while the co2 in your coffee package less than 2mbar,the coffee valve will stop releasing the co2 outside the bag,and keep the rest of coffee aroma in your coffee bag.That is why your client can smell the coffee aroma through the coffee valve on the package,to confirm this bag of coffee is fresh or not.

Why the Coffee Valve also called One-way degassing valve?

The coffee valve need to be one-way degassing valve,because after you roasted the coffee bean,they will produce more and more co2,the coffee valve is playing an important role on it.The coffee valve will release the co2 outside the coffee bag,because while your coffee bag fill with co2,it will make the coffee bag explosion.

And the coffee valve called one-way degassing valve,Also because they only can release the co2 and would not get into the air throuhgt the valve.

While your coffee valve without filter,if your use it to pack with the coffee
powder,the coffee powder will stuck into the coffee valve that will effect the
function of the coffee valve,use the coffee valve with filter for coffee powder,the filter can prevent the coffee powder getting into the valve.
